There are 52 pieces that realize the devotion of the painter and Spanish poet Joan Miró by nature , landscapes and the creatures that inhabit them, through stars , flowers and languages sea.
This Spanish who died at 90 years and is considered one of the leading representatives of surrealism , comes to Bogota with works full of color and life that reflect his interest in the unconscious and the unknown.
The first series is ‘ The Canticle of the Sun’ is made up of 32 pieces worked in colored etchings and aquatints published in 1975 , to illustrate a selection of texts of St. Francis of Assisi , chosen by the Catalan poet Marià Manent .
And second, acrostic Wonderland with variations in the garden of Miró, is composed of a set of twenty lithographs, published in a book – folder with poems by Rafael Alberti , also in 1975 and dedicated especially to Spanish .
The works are exhibited at the Gabriel Garcia Marquez Cultural Center on Calle 11 No 5-60 , in the center of the capital of Colombia .
